2017 American Union Conference

August 23-27, 2017

For the 2017 American Union Conference, the location is Pine Springs Ranch Christian Camp and Conference Center, the same place where the 2014 and 2016 Western Field Conferences were held. We received cordial hospitality and enjoyed the beautiful settings of this Conference Center in southern California, and we look forward to many blessings again.

Located about 100 miles east of Los Angeles and 25 miles east of Hemet, California, the 480-acre facility in a natural mountain setting has nature trails and plenty of places to worship and to share Christian fellowship. On the grounds are tepees, a fort, a covered wagon, and a nature center.

Looking forward to many spiritual blessings, we earnestly petition all who come to bring and share their experiences, thoughts, music, enthusiasm, and love.

Lodging and meals

The lodging facilities include cabins and a Lodge. Every cabin has four sets of bunk beds and one queen bed, is carpeted, and has a wall furnace. Linens are NOT provided, so everyone staying in a cabin needs to bring sleeping bags (or blankets and bedding), pillows, and towels.

The Lodge has motel-style rooms, each with two queen beds, two single trundle beds, and a private bathroom. All linens are provided.

Tent camping is available. The attached Tent Camping Map shows the locations available at the Center for tent camping. Double click on the picture to make it larger. There are showers and bathroom facilities in the bath houses. There is no package price for those who are camping. Cafeteria meals may be purchased as desired.

Delicious vegetarian meals are served buffet style, and meal tickets will be provided for each person. Please note that the serving line will be open only for 30 minutes for each meal. All meal times will be noted on the program.

Check-in and check-out times

Participants may check in at the Lodge front desk after 3:30 p.m., on Wednesday, August 23. The first meal to be served will be dinner at 5:30 p.m. that day. The final meal served will be breakfast on Sunday morning, August 27, at 8:00 a.m. Check-out time is 10:30 a.m. (please check out at the Lodge front desk before that time).

Reservations

See the Reservation Form in the April issue of the American Union Newsletter for all costs, or click on the the file below to download the Form. Select the lodging/meals package you wish. You will see that it is to your financial advantage to make arrangements with family and/or friends to share a Lodge room or cabin. There are no options other than those listed, and no refunds will be given for lodging not used or meals not eaten.

The important thing is to register as soon as possible so you get the lodging you wish. The deadline for submission of Reservation Forms and payment of fees is June 30, 2017.

Delegates’ meetings

The American Union delegates’ meetings are scheduled for Monday, August 21, through Wednesday, August 23, at Pine Springs Ranch. The first meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m. after lunch on Monday.

The delegates who are flying need to arrive at the Ontario, California, airport by 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 20. Notify Elder Oscar Valles (phone: 951-907-0611, email: exo208@gmail.com) of your flight details. You will be picked up and taken to a nearby hotel for the night and be transported to the Center the following morning.

The fields are asked to cover the travel expenses of their delegates who wish to have such assistance, and the American Union will cover the delegates’ expenses of lodging and meals from Tuesday lunch through Wednesday lunch. After that, the delegates will need to cover their own expenses for lodging and meals for the public conference. Be sure to complete a Reservation Form for the public conference for yourself and your family.

Travel and directions

By air: If you are flying, please schedule your flight to the Ontario, California, airport. Please note your flight details on the Reservation Form so arrangements can be made if you need transportation to the Center. If you are flying into any other airport, please make your own arrangements for transportation to the Center.

By car: Following are directions to Pine Springs Ranch Christian Camp and Conference Center. The address is 58000 Apple Canyon Road, Mountain Center, CA 92561. Phone: 951-509-2266. Travel to Hemet, California. From there, take Highway 74 to Mountain Center. Continue three miles on Highway 74 toward Palm Desert to Apple Canyon Road. Turn left, and go three miles to Pine Springs Ranch.
